This Transition Chepstow group hopes that its members can grow to realise fully that we are all part of a great Whole; that we are all co-creators of the great whole; that we cannot be whole persons ourselves until we realise that we are constantly hoping to have healthy and balanced minds; and, as individuals, we are all aware of our part in the world, in the pattern we weave with its many colours, its light and darkness.
Meetings are on the third Thursday of every month.
New members and old faces welcome.
Please feel free to bring your own ideas, input and activities to share with the group and enhance the community spirit we will be generating!

Group Update October 09
The August Heart and Soul BBQ was a lovely evening with 9 local Transitioners in attendance. Much feasting was had with everyone bringing a dish of primarily local, organic or home grown food! Songs were sung, stories shared and poems recited as we sat under the trees at the bottom of Margaret’s permaculture garden. Aside from the sounds of passing traffic on the A48 we all felt a sense of connection to each-other and the earth. Another event of this type is planned for spring 2010
September saw us trying out sacred circle dance, taught by the wonderful Ginny Starchild and her husband David. We learned several folk dances from around the world, and much merriment was had as some steps were missed, and the sense of unity grew within our group of six dancers. Some of the dances were fast and quite complex, some more meditative. Particular favourites were “The Flight of the Condors”, the “Dance of the Elm Trees”, and the “Israeli Blessing Dance”.
October’s meeting at the Coach and Horses brought a lively discussion on evolution of consciousness and the cosmic memory field, or the Akashic record. Some of the ideas discussed drew on ideas from Rupert Sheldrake’s “A New Science of Life” and Ervin Laszlo’s “The Akashic Experience.” This concept is beginning to be explored by experts in the fields of neuroscience, philosophy and physics, however mystics and indigenous peoples have had awareness of it throughout human history due to altered states accessed through meditation practices. This field of universal wisdom contained within all things is something we can begin to rediscover by being with ourselves and nature.
