What is your vision of a future Chepstow?
Transition Chepstow has been developing a vision for the future of our community that will help guide the projects that we and others undertake over the coming years.
We are following in the footsteps of Transition Towns like Totnes who have already created a vision and plan for their town.
This group was set up in November 2012 in order to provide a basis for Transition Chepstow’s long-term planning. Its purpose is to clarify the broad features of a low carbon Chepstow, both for members and the wider public.
In March 2013 Dave ran a visioning workshop to prompt reflection on what a low carbon Chepstow might look like. Consultation across all Transition Chepstow interest groups provided a wealth of further written and visual material for this endeavour. Eight key themes emerged from this:
- Chepstow 2050 Brief
- Some Notes on Envisioning by team member Dave Hicks.
- Sustainable Schools, Sustainable Futures – A resource for teachers – A free book on sustainable futures for teachers, parents and Transitioners by David Hicks.
- Further work on visioning and low carbon futures can be found in Dave’s book: Educating for Hope in Troubled Times: Climate change and the transition to a post-carbon future
Currently the group is not meeting.
